To battle heatwaves we need to drink plenty of water. In my experience cold water is much more effective. Then why not use our wits to create cool water. I’m suggesting a product that uses a simple peltier device powered by a solar panel that is then used to cool water for drinking. I’m not thinking of a portable refrigerator. I guess you can make it more effective by creating a contact area with the water and the peltier device.
Example image just to clearify the idea. Here maybe one should use two water containers. One that you cool and one water container you transfer heat to. Here the chilled water container is small compared to the heated container. Showing both ideas.
The idea is simple. Maybe there should exist cooperation among small businesses for certain products sold in our stores. The idea is that the stores could with some help have a section of new products every week or so. If so. People passing by would be inclined to go into the store just to see whats new. I don’t know how to implement this idea but maybe one could rotate popular products among several stores not located close to each other.
There are many guesses that robots will take over all our jobs in the future. Even if you can’t halt progress should robots that take human jobs be allowed to compete for no pay ? I seriously would consider otherwise, maybe this is a tax question.
The idea is simple and obvious. I believe you need to isolate and train specifically the task of correcting errors in all subjects for the students. Not only in the combination with finding the solution from scratch. The idea is that they could gain ”bug fixing” knowledge which they could then use for their own advantage when finding a solution to a problem. Similarly to be able to collaborate better with others. The thought error with todays system is that the errors encountered by the students are there owns. Meaning they will loose training on many errors they don’t usually make themselves.
Taking inspiration from the Yota phone being a dualscreen phone maybe its enough to have two displays. One big and one little. The idea I had was if you could have scrolling display like the old mp3 players had as the little low energy information display and one ordinary big display. The reason is that people don’t need to turn on the phone to check the time, the latest sms or some other frequently checked information.
In a previous blog post I was wondering how vulnerable EU-migrants could be helped. I think I got the starting answer. Information. I believe those EU-migrants can benefit from information to them and from them. If they get access to devices like smartphones we could make Internet software that could benefit them. What if they could post suggestions themselves to the challenges. If you have a dedicated employment service in the phone maybe they could find employments, job and language training.
As a twist on the classic memory game I came up with this idea. The idea is to pair two images on the tablet or phone let the computer check if they are related. A simple relation could be the same face or an object that has been rotated. I think maybe this could help older people who have trouble remembering faces. They could just pair the same person from two different angles. Anyway I think it could be a fun game to create.
A post for the possible existence of human freewill
Even if absolute freewill is impossible. Nature can simulate it. Meaning that we need not look at an absolute perfect version of freewill. Just one that can improve, change or evolve. This means we are looking for a practical freewill system that helps make choices that are somewhat efficient. A system that makes choices coincide or at least not go against your will. Since otherwise it will be very inefficient.
Where does freewill come from?
Humans can act upon information. That doesn’t mean I think we all would behave ideally. This because its a difficult problem to generate good information to act upon. But its probably better to rely on your own generated information then to always be dependable on what the outside world will give you.
A guess. Everything that can be recognized can also be generated
I therefore wonder if the choices we make growing up are evaluated. If they are then its possible to classify them into groups under some circumstances. I’m sure there there will be a group that we can say are examples of human freewill. Since the neural net can recognize these type of choices then it can generate them as well.
What about the illusion of free will?
Because you can recognize the feeling of freewill. Your brain can use this feeling as the target for your neural network (similar to a machine learning target). If your actions then helps generate this feeling over a longer period of time. Then you can say that your actions follows your will and there is no illusion. Possibly you need to generate the “idle” state in the brain also with the freewill feeling as a target.
I think there is potential improvement in the random number system we use for searching solutions to various problems. We humans are not very good at outputting random numbers. I think we just output educated guesses. Then perhaps we could innovate the random number system to a smart system. That is we use educated numbers generated from a neural network. The strategy could then be to progressively work down from educated guesses to completely random numbers. Use only complete random numbers when a solution is not quickly found.
The idea is simple. To give every child equal chances in school why not have national online courses in the subjects for the parents. I believe you can gain a lot for the child by refreshing the memory of the parents. The courses should be free massive open online courses which they can take at their own pace. That is without any start dates or other deadlines. Here it would also be possible to adapt the short courses with useful information for parents.
Found the article Borrow the internet? Berkeley Co. library offers new service . Here people could borrow the Internet. I think this could work for Sweden also. For especially elderly people that are afraid they don’t know how an Internet dongle or portable wifi router works. They could get help in the library and try for free at home. Borrowing a free Internet dongle for some period could perhaps then help to close the digital divide. I believe this is important for them because if you are connected you are less alone.
The idea is simple. With the help of computers it should be possible to select the 3D depth of the layer in which you will paint. Different layers of the drawing could then have different depths and thus display a 3D-effect when combined. The display could be done on big 3D TV screens until something else is invented. I haven’t seen such a computer program but maybe in the future we could have 3D-effect art.
I think we need more knowledge on how to empower people. From this gained knowledge. Can we use that to help the people sitting in the street? Are there ideas out there that can give them a better life. What about ideas for employment, job training, education and housing.
The idea I had was to use a device like a Peltier generator together with an air conditioner. The problem I have living in an apartment is that its hard to install conditioners. If I could convert some of the heat energy from the air conditioner outlet to electricity. I would have an easy way to transport and burn that energy in electrical wires outside the apartment. If this worked I would be able to install many small conditioners in each room so that I don’t need to cool the whole apartment. Just the room I’m in. Further if we do not place restrictions like direct current does on electricity maybe one can achieve a higher efficiency from the Peltier generator. Maybe there should exist a device that generates an alternating current from heat. Perhaps you would not put restrictions on the frequency either.
Feel free to modify or just take inspiration from this idea. To empower refugees why not give them the opportunity to create a market for their products. Here they could use todays modern tools to enhance the traditional market. For instance one could with little money create a wifi web server with software that would make this market more consumer friendly. The costumer could get various information this way. What products are the most popular at the moment and possibly get sms notifications for when the products they requested are available. Here maybe one could make delayed deals. A notification is sent later if the seller accepted the bargained price. I think you can do the same for time of the day dependent prices also. Here you could send a notification when the price of the products which the buyers are interested in have gone down. The idea is that the product sellers collaborate trough the software so that the consumers only have to connect to one of a few servers but still be able to access all the sellers. You would not need the Internet for this to work. The smartphone can connect to a wifi webserver without the Internet. Even if the market would not cost millions of dollars the virtual space created in the phone could be quite advance.
I wonder if we make it to hard for our brains thinking about theories. Either in biology or physics. What if we aim to show why the theory is believable. I think this would give room for further advancements and if there exists something like truth recognition in the brain. This would then give perspective and relax the brain in trying to understand it.
I’m thinking an easy solutions to teacher anxiety. The problem where you under perform because your not used to getting questions verbally. Would be to incorporate audio version of written exercises or questions in digital textbooks. The audio version is not meant to be exactly as the text. Here you can use your imagination to guide the student. Give them a sense of direction, encourage or otherwise engage them. I was wondering if you can make the job market easier and more efficient. As of now you get a job as a single person. What if you could team up with a friend and apply for the job? I’m thinking this might work for online jobs. The employer would get the benefit of a pair that has already worked together before and enhance each others abilities. Since they get graded as a team it would mean that they would teach and improve each other. Why put a team together based only upon their skills. With two person employments you know they can already work together. If the had the same skills they could ask each other. I think this would greatly improve the quality of the work.
Thinking about this further. Could this idea be used to employ more people in wheelchairs?
Here is a really good tip. Since the Raspberry Pi2 only got 1GB memory I thought why not try compression. After installing zRam on my Ubuntu MATE setup I can only say WOW. That is some difference. The Iowait is gone. No waiting even with lots of tabs in the browser and multiple programs running at the same time. Everything feels snappy and the Pi2 gets to be even more awesum.
My idea is very simple. Since you have advertising in magazines covering pretty much everything. I thought why not provide bitsize articles of useful or enjoyable topics in paper or email ads. If the bundled article with the ad is targeted at the right audience then surely it will be very effective. For ads from online computer stores. Why not bundle those with a technical and useful article. Perhaps it could be a series of Linux/Raspberry Pi2 tutorials on programming a simple game. I believe this will make spam not ”spam”. Maybe this could lead to more internet jobs like an adblogger writing articles for enhanced ads.
Why not take advantage of the Internet by which you can distribute data all over the world at a very low cost. The idea is to make movies into two parts. One that you can distribute and let the public watch for free and one longer part they pay a ticket for later at the cinema. The movie is meant to be watched both from the Internet and at the cinema. What is a proper length for the Internet part I don’t know but it probably should not be longer than 40 min like that of a short film. I believe this will generate a lot of interest for the whole movie.
I have written before how you can invent new things simply by giving yourself enough information for your imagination. You can do this by simply guessing the name of the possible invention. I do this by manipulating the existing name of the invention. Here for example I want to innovate the computer related cache.
Cache → Smart Cache → Machine Learning Based Cache
I don’t know how this would work but I feel the name could be an interesting start. I imagine a machine learning setup could decide what to store in the cache. At what time and for how long based on various inputs.
Perhaps one could also take advantage of machine learning when designing a process scheduler. In any case I believe it will be worth the research. This will move Linux on a path of becoming smarter.
The idea is simple. Could we implement a dual or multi keyword search syntax for ordinary search tasks in our text editors. I don’t know the best definition for such a keyword search but I can try. As far as I know you can now search for two keywords if you know what keyword comes after the first and if the editor has a search direction. My idea goes as follows. For a user defined number of rows find that area of rows that contains all the keywords and highlight them. I think the number of rows is often just one line.
So searching for the padding in some .css file becomes (10 row area).
Here the search failed for the exact string “main menu padding 10” so it continued with multi search.
This idea is really simple. Even if you can maximize the area with sharp corners it might not be the most favorable surface for us to look at. I therefore suggest that whenever you see a sharp corner. You can ask yourself. What if a rounded corner would look better. Products that I think rounded corners would be suited for would be photo papers print outs, magazines, regular writing paper. For us computer nerds we could just add rounded corners for the image viewer or maybe for the whole desktop in Linux. Like an old black and white television.
For the desktop I provided my rounded Ubuntu MATE. View the image in full screen for the maximum effect. Click on the image and in Firefox press F11. If this could be done with something similar to HTML, CSS then it would be pretty cool. With such Desktop CSS you could start to adapt pretty much everything.
