This is speculation on my part. With metal 3D printing couldn’t you alternate steel with different carbon percentages to get optimized properties. Different constructions would then have different distributions. So the idea is that with a 3D printing machine you could choose between different steel powders with different properties.
The idea is simple. Use more of the brain to find the answer to a question. What I mean is when you get a question in school for instance you also write down the question and speak it to yourself. Thereby your brain has formulated the question in different forms. Since the brain acts somewhat like machine learning it will take information from whatever is possible. Some of that decision processing will be automatic. With this you will have an easier time solving any question using your ordinary methods. In addition to this write down keywords as they come to your mind when solving the question. This will help your brain if it gets lost.
The purpose of the matching idea is that perhaps this can be used in a fast way to generate inventions.
When looking at objects in our universe they are built of smaller matching objects. They belong to the bigger object, they match somehow. For organic objects you find that they match within the exterior and the object as a whole. My idea is that you can place a number on that property. A matching value.
The tool for this I imagine is something like a 3D heal section function for objects. You can try examples of the 2D heal function in GIMP (software) for images.
If you then take some size of the volume out of the object and heal that section using a 3D heal function. You will get a value how well they matched the rest of the object when comparing with the original big object. Then integrate that procedure over the whole object and you get a matching value.
Like everything. You can recognize it. Then its simple to prove an axiom is an axiom. It is just recognized as such. The recognition I imagine can be done with machine learning.
As an imagination exercise why not take inspiration from conservation of energy. The law implies that energy can be neither created nor be destroyed. As an alternative I wonder if energy can be created if you destroy an equal amount of energy at the same time.
Maybe you need the concept of not common sense ideas to unlock the mysteries of the universe. Maybe we have discovered what can be recognized as common sense ideas already and we should expand our intuition.
I’ve written before that you could use 3D models as the basis for drawing on paper. That might not be so simple as I had thought. Therefore here is another idea for you as a teacher can make. Just load a clipart or some other easy image in your image software and cut out pieces of the image. The idea is then to continue to draw and complete the image based on what’s left of the original image.
The idea is simple. Why not add the possibility to save the undo history in our Linux software. For software like GIMP, LibreOffice or Audacity it would be much easier to just let the program keep the undo state for every project when saving. Size would be larger but the hassle of redoing stuff makes it worth it. And since one can do it like an option I don’t see a problem. There is another way but the problem with that is that you don’t know when to save. This idea solves that.
As an alternative. Maybe one could when saving the image file also save an associated file which is then the undo history.
My idea is to take advantage of the human capacity for imagination in constructing a video compression system. Its really simple. Like a comic magazine you only need certain key images for the human imagination. My idea is similar. Take a screenshot of the important frames and keep the audio as is. Then you just show the still the frames some variable time each. This way you can get the size down of a video to just a very small amount. This is important for streaming on the mobile network. I imagine this could be very useful to make podcasts much more interesting. Streaming news and other videos that mostly use audio to pass information then becomes much easier.
Todays morning. Running Linux. Watching news and writing an idea.
The idea is simple. To fight poverty why not make it as easy as possible to start a business. I’m thinking we could design prefabricated homes with built in shops, small restaurants or other business spaces. I’m sure this would make it easier to start up a business since a lot of the cost is already taken care of. I’m hoping countries in Africa will pick up the store potential and perhaps also this dual purpose home idea.
I have very little experience in programming. My observation though is that software like Firefox takes way to much memory these days. When it does the CPU usage is also very high. Again I have very little experience but should there not exist a memory compression option that implements compression automatically when compiling software? With this I would not need compression like zram on boxes that doesn’t have Linux installed. If the compression method has many parameters maybe there is a possibility to use machine learning to get the right balance.
Another idea would be. Inspired by error-correcting code memory (ECC memory). When data corruption is not acceptable at all. For instance in financial computing. Why not use RAM compression where you use a checksum and data repair. Compressing data would also allow smaller memory devices that might not be so sensitive giving errors.
The idea is simple. To help the vulnerable EU-migrants sitting in front of the stores. We could provide a cheap way for them to earn some money. Since the entrance of the store where they sit often have a parking space or some other open space connected to it. Why not put in place a small prefabricated wooden ”container” building. In this they could sell hot water for tea, coffee, hotdogs or perhaps blueberry soup for when its really cold. The idea is simple. A problem with Windows computers at work or at friends is that I as a Linux user can’t then use my solutions for solving certain problems. They all require Linux to run. So I thought. Can’t we then have an online simulator of the Linux command line at some site. Like those online python emulators the syntax of the terminal could be simulated.
With this you could for example do and show an image batch conversion using something similar to the Imagemagick package. Also non Linux users could learn to love the terminal because it solves problems.
I think the command line syntax could work for the web in accomplishing advanced tasks that would otherwise require to much work with a graphical user interface.

A similar idea would be to include software with a built in terminal syntax on the smartphone and tablet. Again this could solve complex tasks that are too annoying to do with lots of thumb presses.
The idea simple. As a smart aid to new businesses. Also in refugee places. Could we innovate and design something that looks inviting, is more affordable and is movable for business. Something other than brick and mortar buildings or containers. I’m thinking there has got to be a possibility to construct prefabricated houses that can be used for business. With this you get a way of testing what works in a specific area with little cost. A simple way to test the location and its market. It can then serve as information for permanent buildings for those businesses. Also for others that can’t afford the rent. This could get their startup started.
The idea is simple. The desktop home screen on Linux and Android gets cluttered after a while. Could we innovate a smart home screen? At least on Android I would like to easily hide some icons. On my current Linux distribution with the MATE desktop environment I could imagine having tabs on the desktop or a icon page selector as on Android.
This is meant as food for thought. To aid the situation of refugee employment. Could we have global or local companies that are specialized in establishing businesses in refugee places? I mean should we be surprised that there exists supermarkets and barbers in some refugee camps. Maybe this is a hint of what to do. Maybe Business or Factory In A Box then becomes what it sounds like. You ship a whole or part of a business to a refugee place. The choice of business should of cause be taken so it also benefits the host country and its residents. The idea is to take advantage of the mobility of global companies to benefit the refugees. Then why not try assembly of some brand of smartphones or maybe tablets. With this in place you would have solved a bit of the unemployment issue and education by e-learning with the tablets.
The idea is to promote writing. I’m thinking there should exist a website where users can post small but big enough texts that captures the story. Not necessarily like the backside of a book. I mean enough text for you to build your imagination on. Inspired by open source it could also be a good thing to fail fast. Some ideas for books are better than others. Feedback on the small part could perhaps help you decide which of your ideas to proceed with. This will train you in creating starting ideas for books. Hopefully then with a very good idea your book will be easy to write.
Inspired by programming. One kind of problem generation is the one you get from solving bugs. By solving one bug you could have created another. You generated another problem. I wonder if this is a general consequence that can also exist in other fields. What about evolution. My guess is that evolution has some kind of proofing ability. It would be wasteful if one evolved solution later on just created another problem. Even if that additional problem could be solved. It would be very wasteful if this process would go on indefinitely. Since optimization by trial and error is not the best solution. My guess is that evolution has evolved some kind of proof capability so that it would not have to rely to much on that feed back loop in generating solutions.
I thought why not try to invent a new idea simply by combining the ideas from different products. Here I took inspiration from tea and applied that to coffee. Since coffee is a very popular drink and choice is good. The idea is to sell many different dry coffee flavors in a box. Like tea you only need cup portions in some paper wrapping. Maybe this also solves the problem of constantly fixing coffee machines at work or at stores. Since with this idea you only need a hot water dispenser.
This idea is very very simple and cheap. Why not combine the best from stationary phones and mobile phones and create a product suited for the elderly? With a SIM card plugged in a stationary phone you can place it anywhere there is a power outlet. The phone can be made large with large buttons and there is no battery that needs to be charged. The connection is wireless and you pay a monthly fee. I believe this solves the telephone problem for a lot of older people. I mean they usually don’t carry the phone with them. They have other problems like less ability in the hands, less eye vision and hearing.
The idea is simple. I read that it takes too long for refugees to get jobs. How can we aid the situation? Could refugees who wants to build companies and possibly generate jobs become a reality? Is there a need for a startup in smart aid to property development?
As many others I imagined you could achieve greatness when I as a kid saw the Conway’s game of life. Now older looking back at the simulation. What do I think of it now.
Well the whole abstract idea maybe exemplifies some problems belonging to simulations in general.
For one thing I tried to give the simulation the starting conditions for it to “live” longer. When I think about it. This just means that I wanted to make the simulation more interesting. I wanted to see more and more peculiar things. Speculating about things that could make the simulation more interesting. Could the simulation take advantage of randomness to revitalize itself? Could the objects in the simulation be equipped with sensors and an idea of survival. So maybe from the problems arising in simulations you get a concept of “interesting”.
You can derive many things from this by a comparison of problems existing in other fields. For instance. Big bang together with determinism seems to me be a very naive idea. I mean how could you set the starting conditions for the unfolding to be interesting for such a long time.
What if you can add a weight to different ideas? With this you could separate the very big ideas from the very small. I’m thinking why couldn’t you analyse different inventions from an idea perspective. The result should then be a number of ideas that captures the invention. I imagine several ideas will be the same for different inventions. This might add to their weight. Maybe this strategy could also be helpful for understanding biology and evolution. How many ideas comprises a little flower? An example would be the idea of “smooth edges”, photosynthesis and more. Then I imagine you can change an invention by mixing ideas, changing or adding ideas.
The idea is simple. In addition to classical learning. Why not let the students invent their own assignments and problems. The idea is that they learn to use their creative side. In math they could create relevant and interesting examples themselves and let their peers solve them. I think this might be a good way to engage the students. So don’t let the students be just math consumers.
This idea is inspired by painting. My experience is that when you paint. You make alterations based on feelings. If the drawing doesn’t feel quite right you make an alteration until everything feels right. Thinking about feelings. Everything we do generates a feeling within us. I don’t think that it’s just for show. When a person designs a product he looks at it and feels. If he then makes a prediction on what the changes should be to amplify that good feeling. Is he not optimizing that product with a feeling as a base? My idea is then that we might be able to capture or computer recognize that feeling and others with machine learning. Then we could have the computer make optimizations based on feelings. That is. The computer makes alterations to the design to maximize the specific “feeling” we want.
The idea is very simple. Divide the large cookie containers into singles or dual cookies wrapped in some foil paper. Sell this beside the chocolate bars and you can get a much healthier alternative to ordinary candy. Healthier because of the real ingredients like real sugar and flower. I believe this will be a win win for the consumers and for the cookie manufacturers. Single cookies will yield more money per cookie and the consumers will feel more healthy eating a non chocolate health-cookie.
